The Decision

In order to prepare for our next session (hopefully in January), I will need to prepare the next chapter of our game. To do so, you must together decide what comes next. Listed below are some helpful suggestions as to options you might pursue. Please discuss and let me know. Feel free to add options.

Option 1 (aka: The Main Storyline): someone must get word to Lord Gilead about armies gathering in the Hool Marshes under the leadership of a very large black dragon. The citizens of Keoland deserve to know about the dark forces that gather against them. This means either travelling to the capital city of Niole Dra to convince Lord Gilead personally of the threat, or sending word, which is much less likely to reach him and be believed, but is better than nothing.

Option 2 (aka: The Original Mission): return to Saltmarsh to advise the town council that the weapons are being sold to lizardfolk in the nearby marshes who are gathering into an army – good luck with that. Maybe they will send word to Lord Gilead (assuming they believe the bit about the dragon). Also, Zymaan would like to stop by and visit Henry Marshall, head of the local Church of St. Cuthbert, to have the cursed of the Philosopher’s Stone removed.

Option 3 (aka: Become Pirates): Foul Fritoff, Bosun of the Sea Ghost, argues in favour of proceeding quickly to Seaton to unload the very illegal drugs the Sea Ghost is still carrying. Every person on a boat smuggling drugs of this type and quantity would surely be hung if caught in most any port of call with this illegal cargo. Reduce risk and get rich(er).

Option 4 (aka: Icky Borbuz): Captain Janaar Stormwind prefers seafaring adventures over land-based ones. He wants to chase down his old nemesis Icky Borbuz and crush him and his budding fleet of pirate ships – including his two flagships (Barf and Belch) which have magically enchanted masts from a hidden island called Monkey Island.

Option 5 (aka: Sherlock Holmes): Figure out what the deal is with the beautiful sorceress you found in the cell aboard the Sea Ghost (Nyneve). Icky Borbuz kidnapped her but then arranged to transfer her to his enemy, Captain Sigurd Snake Eyes of the Sea Ghost, in a mid-sea transfer. Borbuz figured that anyone looking for her would never expect that! The Captain’s Log says only that “arrangements were made” in regards to the transfer of the prisoner and the payment of consideration between the two men.

Option 6 (aka: Retire): Decide that you were only ever in it for the money and since you are already sitting on a fortune, phuck it – retire. Take your share and live long in Saltmarsh off the stories of your adventures so far.
