Demi-Monde United: Story Post – 005

In the heat of battle, with bombs dropping from the sky and flak bursting in mid air, Cambion arrives and convinces Zymaan to come with her.

It is unclear if Zymaan does so willingly, or if he has succumbed to her magical charms.

However it is, she grabs him by the elbow and ushers him away from the main combat.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” She asks him imperiously.

“Huh?” Zymaan responds. Even Bob is silent at this point.

“Answer me,” she commands, but Zymaan cannot for he does not understand what is going on.

Seeing his confusion, Cambion casts a spell to dispel any encantations that may be upon him.

“For fucks sake,” she complains. “How long have you been scrambled?”

Zymaan still does not know what is going on.

“Listen,” she starts, again with an imperious voice. “Shit’s about to go down. This half-plane whateverthefuck is about to be incinerated. You ever heard of a firestorm?” She does not wait for a response.

“A firestorm is what you see right now, plus wind. In about ten minutes this place will be about 1,800 fucking degrees.”

“We have to get the fuck out of here, like, right now.” This time she waits for a response but Zymaan remains incapable of one.

Cambion grabs Zymaan by the throat. “Listen up, fucknuts, you respond when I’m talking to you. Understand?”

Somehow Zymaan nods yes. He has never been more aroused.

“Good,” she accepts. “This is how it’s going to be. Like it or not, you’re little friend Nyneve is going to die in the next ten minutes. Then Morgan is going to come and end this place. We need to be gone before then. We have important work to do. Come back with me and get your fucking shit together, man.”

Finally she lets go of Zymaan’s throat and he can breathe again. She is surprisingly strong.

“What shit… is that… exactly,” Zymaan pants.

“Nyneve is trying to bring the old Alandra back. That can’t happen. Alandra fell into darkness at Meat Grinder Rock and that was a huge victory for us. Don’t let the sacrifices of our many comrades be in vain.”
